Central Asia's Premier Sustainable Destination

Despite winter temperatures dropping to -20°C, Issyk-Kul never fully freezes. This remarkable phenomenon occurs due to the lake's 0.6% salinity, geothermal hot springs along the lakebed, and its extraordinary depth of 668 meters — making it the world's 7th deepest lake.

Protected by the Tien Shan mountain peaks on all sides, this massive body of water acts as a thermal reservoir, moderating the region's climate and creating a unique microenvironment that supports 335+ endemic species found nowhere else on Earth.

KGIF is developing flagship green infrastructure projects in the Issyk-Kul region, from our 300 MW solar power plant in Balykchy to the 40-hectare high-tech greenhouse complex — powering sustainable tourism and local agriculture.
