Transforming Agriculture in Central Asia

Kyrgyzstan sits at a strategic crossroads in Central Asia, with access to growing markets in Russia, Kazakhstan, China, and beyond. Yet the region faces significant food security challenges, relying heavily on seasonal imports and traditional farming methods vulnerable to climate variability.

KGIF is addressing this gap by developing Central Asia's most advanced greenhouse facility, using Dutch ModulAIR semi-closed greenhouse technology to achieve year-round production of high-quality produce, regardless of weather conditions.

The project creates 500 local jobs while transferring advanced horticultural knowledge to Kyrgyz workers through the K2K university partnership program.

Advanced Technology

ModulAIR Semi-Closed Greenhouse System

The ModulAIR system combines AI-driven climate control with advanced ventilation and energy management to achieve production yields 130-255% higher than conventional greenhouses.

130-255% Higher Yields

AI-optimized growing conditions dramatically increase production compared to conventional greenhouses.

Resource Efficiency

Precision irrigation and fertigation minimize water and fertilizer usage while maximizing output.

Year-Round Production

Climate-controlled environment enables continuous production regardless of external weather conditions.

Climate Resilience

Protected growing environment shields crops from extreme temperatures and weather variability.

Building Local Expertise

The K2K program connects Kyrgyz universities with Dutch horticultural institutions to train the next generation of agricultural technicians and managers.

  • University partnership programs
  • Hands-on technical training
  • Dutch horticultural expertise
  • Local workforce development
Knowledge Transfer

K2K University Partnership Program

Knowledge transfer is central to KGIF's mission. The K2K program creates pathways for Kyrgyz workers to develop specialized skills in modern greenhouse operations, from AI climate management to advanced cultivation techniques.

This partnership ensures that the benefits of our investment extend beyond the greenhouse walls, building lasting capabilities that will support agricultural innovation across the region.
